That's the whole point of the ping limit.

If the majority of players don't like to play with non-laggers....then what???? Should they go for creating a new match??? huh
You are still not getting it. I am talking abt community as a whole and you are backing up non-laggers. Your thoughts are getting biased here.

why in PB2.5? Why not before it comes. Eric can give a try to what / how we would like to see a new ping system. For better !

Lord Blue Blood wrote: i personally have an idea about the ping limit, even if it is removed i want something else, since players with lower ping have better connexion they become faster than players with high ping and get an advantage so instead of only being able to set a ping limit to kick players with higher ping, how about we set a ping limit that kicks a person with lower ping than it is set in the game for example "70 pings - 180 pings" which means players with ping lower than 70 or higher than 180 get kicked.

Look Aurora, LLB got my point here. He knows that non-laggers are at advantages ; (i) playing advantage and (ii) entry level advantage to gain ppp. And what laggers have got..... nothing. I mean first they are unfortunate to have high ping and to add to this, they are disallowed to play in ranked matches....It is fking too unfair. :(

Either remove it or put in place like what LLB says. At least what LLB is speaking of doesnt favor just one group of users. Unbiased.

I agree with silent aurora. PING is so F*CKING stuping ping system must be turned off im in Philippines and its hard to connect in California I have like 200 - 300 in this server. its even hard to connect in Washington I have like 300 - 500 in Ukraine I have like 500 or more. So I'd like to share this topic. :D and honestly im always being disconnected in the matches in California so I want to fix this lag and pings.

Exactly. There are people around the globe that play this game with inevitable lag.

There was a brilliant idea above which suggested country or even continent servers. However, money man, that's a HUGE factor in this. A server like that is NOT cheap.

Considering your experience and having played with you before, I can tell that you still have a fun time and can kill people and such.

I hope you continue to enjoy yourself and accept the lag from where you are. I'm glad you stepped in for a potential solution for 2.5 and its ping system.

Thanks!

Why would you go through the time to buying an expensive server when not that many people play the game anyways to confiscate the large amount of money anyways?

Exactly. Though I would like to point out that Plazma Burst 2 still accumulates thousands of unique users a day. The price tag for a continent server idea is massive, and in that there's almost no way the continent server idea could even be possible without some sort of donation system or something.

I guess that solution is out.

I believe ping limits should be slightly modified from the way they are right now. I will explain in what ways and why:

Yes there are plenty of arguments against ping limits. I sympathize with arguments such as people living far from the current servers. If I had lag I wouldn't enjoy the ping limits at all.
But,
I know plenty of people in game who do not particularly enjoy playing against lagers. Personally I have played against people that you have to shoot at for about 30 seconds straight non-stop for them to die.
I am part of the revivalists and support their actions, but I feel like taking away the ping limit will discourage many players within the game.
We have to realize that statistically people in the forums are different than people in game. There will always be a slight bias in opinions. As someone who plays in game quite a bit I can say that people with a lot of lag are shunned upon and seen as a nuisance. If you ask random players in the game about this topic most will argue for keeping ping limits or even making them more strict.

While removing the ping limit might drive people away, having a ping limit also decreases the popularity of PB. Either way players will be driven away.

My solution is to keep ping limits but eliminate or increase the ping threshold.
1. When you create a map the ping is automatically set at 1000. I feel that value should be removed or increased higher so people with higher ping or ping spikes are able to stay connected in a game. I normally have good ping (80ish) but still get ping spikes at times which have caused me to be disconnected even when the ping limit is 1000.
2. The person making the map should reserve the ability of choosing the ping limit. People who want to play at a 500 ping limit should be able to. Although many people will just make the map at the max ping threshold i believe it is important to let the player choose.

With this solution players with high ping limits will not be kicked out easily bc of their ping and will be able to enjoy the game much more. Also players who don't want to deal with users with high ping can make their own game with a lower ping setting. Both parties win. And basing my expectations on the current situation most games will be made at the max allowed ping.

i know this is fairly lengthy and I apologize for that
but in theory this would work well.

The responses have been INCREDIBLE guys.

Massive thanks and excellent work.

Our next move is locking this topic, synthesizing the discussed solutions to the Ping Limits problem, and creating a YouTube video on our channel and sending the final conclusion to Eric Gurt. Therefore, we are filling his heads with ideas the community wants and are getting our voices heard for potential changes in Plazma Burst 2.5.

For people that may doubt that he'll see it, read the first paragraph of this topic, Eric watched and commented on our last video.

Spirit and I will get it up ASAP.

Thank you to those of the (R) movement, NEW TOPIC coming soon!
