First GIF | Moving footage of PB 2.5 !

Postby Copy_ » 7 February 2016, 11:13

Hey! Yesterday Eric shared a short GIF of PB 2.5!

twitter.com/Eric_Gurt/status/696045481261187076/video/1

Even though the GIF is only 4 sec long, one can clearly see that the game looks much much smoother compared to PB2 !

And he even had to downrate the video from 60 to 30FPS in order to upload it on twitter.

The seamless Death|Ragdoll animation looks very good and smooth aswell.

So, what are your thoughts on this? Do you like the Death animations or do you dislike them? Please share it down below!:D

I saw his tweet and I'm more excited for this game than HL3.

The death animation looks alright.
I think that Erics progress on pb2.5 is going good and hes actually keeping us in touch with his work unlike some developers.

I didn't understand how the sword disappeared if it went down to the floor, was that a glitch or a feature?

Pix, it was a feature. And you could use your imagination for why it happened. Maybe the bullet hit the power reactor for the PSI blades....

its really not "much much smoother compared to pb2"

pb2 is capable of running at 60 fps; pb2.5 is also capable of running at 60 fps

is 60 > 60? no

It's sooooo smooth, I love it.

Eric is doing quite a great job on 2.5.

It's everything we love in PB2, but more!

:D

With respect, insight, and choice,

...those are my thoughts.

pb2 is made of lag, even the best pc cant handle 60 fps which is sad. pb2.5 is more optimized and can stay on 60 fps for a longer period of time

idk what u consider "the best pc," because i guess i top that

i run it on a toaster, and its not uncommon for me to get 60 fps

you could say that you measure "smoothness" in frames per second, and if the 2 games have the same standard frames per second, then does that mean one game is "much, much smoother" than the other? no, of course not; they both have exactly the same "smoothness"

the "smoothness" demonstrated in the gif is easily achievable in pb2

The game seems much smoother already because:

- Stable 60FPS not like PB2
- The animations all look very good and smooth.
- The effects are way better aswell and don't cause framedrops like in PB2
- The death animations are seamless and smooth combined with a new ragdoll system.
The only ones who should kill, are those who are prepared to be killed.

pb2's stability at 60 fps can be argued

you literally backed up your point (which is "pb2.5 is smoother than pb2") by saying that pb2.5 is smooth

your opinion that the "effects look good" or "look better" or "death animations are seamless" has nothing to do with the point that pb2.5 has higher fps than pb2, which isnt true

pb2.5 doesnt have higher fps capabilities than pb2, so therefore its not smoother than it.

will pb2.5 be more consistent and stable at 60 fps? who the hell knows

bottom line is, if you say "yes" to that question based on a gif that is less than 10 seconds, then im afraid youre assuming a tad too much

Well there's no problem at the fps the problem is flash itself. I think there's is so much lag in the new Flash Player Update i can't run pb2 smoothly but when im in luck the game won't lag and it will run smoothly as expected in 60 fps
