PL Manager Responsibilities and Accountability

Postby Bryguy4280 » 29 August 2020, 05:20

In the following presentation as listed are all manager responsibilities Plazma League enforces to get the best possible experience out of the teams. Managers are held at a higher standard then players and suffer worse consequences for failures to their teams. All of these rules are subject to change or get updated so it's recommended you check these frequently as self reminders.

MANAGER RESPONSIBILITIES

Part 1: Responsibilities of a Manager

Managers are required to create a team name, color, and are given the option to customize a logo for their team which must be server appropriate.

Managers will participate in a draft at the beginning of every season which will allow them to hand pick players from a predetermined pool created by the commissioners. Managers placement in the half draft/half signing event will be randomized. (Placement referring to the position you'll be able to pick players from. 1 selection per turn like usual drafts.)

Managers must inform their players they are to use one and only 1 account during the entire event to prevent confusion amongst the statisticians when recording data. Prevent them from participating if they refuse to switch to their registered account. This is also disqualification worthy if a player is found account sharing under a different name, or using a separate players account for the purpose of benefiting another team.

Managers must update their players frequently on everything necessary to ensure the team has the best possibility of success. This could range from avid team communication, practicing, and a personalized server for your team.

Managers are expected to create match times in accordance with their competition. Weekly sets can be scheduled in a 3 day time period of Monday-Wednesday or Thursday-Saturday depending on where their match set is placed. Each team will participate in a Round Robin season that will face six teams against all others once with 5 sets per team equating to a possible 15 matches during the season if all go to game 3 winner takes all. (This does not include the elimination tournament bracket matches after teams qualify during regular season.)

Managers are expected to keep Commissioners and recorders/referees updated on match scheduling so they can be officiated by a Plazma League Representative.

Managers are expected to accept the responsibility of managing their team and must understand that failing to do so will result in serious consequences that determine their participation in future incarnations of the event itself. These consequences can range in a variety of different punishments that may eventually lead to never being allowed to manage a team again and suspensions being the most severe.

Part 2: Managers Abilities (During a Season)

Managers have the ability to sign players during any point in a season after the pre-season draft has finished. (This is subject to change depending on event participation.)

Managers have the ability to waive players from their teams after a pre-season draft. Unless a player is banned, inactive, or asking to leave it is recommended managers keep as many players available as possible depending on the pool of players available.

Managers have the ability to trade players after the pre-season draft. Trading will be moderated by the commissioners to avoid biased or unfair trades designed to hurt teams.

Managers will have the ability to veto a map if agreed by both managers. Vetoes are being limited to 3 per term because a map is removed after every veto, so the sense of random chance would be removed with unlimited rerolls. Managers may use vetoes on more then one map, or on the same map pick over and over until they run out of vetoes. This will remain a restraint until otherwise disputed or readjusted.
