Leaning Mechanic

Self explanatory.

To give this game a more tactical feel, adding a leaning mechanic that allows a player's character to lean forwards or backwards is a good idea. The concept behind this is to be able to shoot an enemy while exposing as little of your body as possible. Whether or not the AI can do this can be decided by the developer, although there should be like an engine mark or a trigger or something to disable this mechanic as well.

As for the controls, I'll leave things up to the developer, but it should include keys easily accessible from WASD.
However, as the WASD region of the keyboard is mostly used up, I suggest having Q and E as the keys for leaning to the screen's left and right, respectively, but ONLY if the SHIFT key is pressed down. If the SHIFT key is not being pressed down, then the Q and E keys will perform their original functions.
Me in my imagination:
Complete and utter annihilation through superior volume of fire.

How exactly will you lean left and right in a 2D game?
How many bugs does this game have anyway? jeez

No, forward and back.
Your character will lean towards either the left edge of the screen or the right edge of the screen.

Your character can technically do this if they move quickly from left to right (also called shadow movement or something in stryde-sniper). I wouldn't see much use to this feature though since leaning does not make your character taller or shorter or invulnerable.

If there is a platform above you and an enemy above you, or if you are on a platform with an enemy below you, you can stand at a safe spot, lean forward slightly so that only your head and a small portion of your body is exposed, and be able to shoot the enemy. This is mostly useful for tight spaces and CQC and vertical combat, where it's a lot easier to hit a fully exposed body. At longer distances this won't make as much of a difference.

i get your concept but your supposed to be vulnerable. You can crouch and do a quick shot and you can even hang off crap to cover yourself. Leaning is a mechanic that will only work in 3D environments
I would however prefer to have hanging off ledges be easier
you know i began to realize why youtubers beg for likes and shit its cause people forget to rate otherwise like come on how many people can have under 100 kills!

Unfortunately your accuracy is sucky when you hang off the edge.

Say, you know what? That should be an official mechanic in the game! Press F to mount weapon or something, like in CoD. So if you crouch behind cover, you can steady your weapon on top of it to improve accuracy and decrease recoil. Your character will also duck down a bit.

Unnecessary feature. But if it there will be it better be automatically rather than binded to a certain button.
