Weapon Set #8

Postby Hikarikaze » 21 February 2016, 00:48

Here's a set of weapons that'll probably blow your arms off because they're too OP.

Spoiler: Show More
Open on a new tab

Weapon name: Razorback LMG

Heavy caliber energy machine gun with a moderate cyclic rate of fire capable of shredding through basic and moderately durable armor with ease.

Weapon Stats
Firing mode: Automatic
Rate of fire: Same as the CS-RC
Projectile color: Blue
Magazine (if applicable): 125
Accuracy: Similar to Minigun's accuracy except accurate by 5 more degrees

Weapon Abilities
If you press RMB (right mouse button), the weapon fires a charged shot (which takes 1.5 seconds to charge up) that spends both 25 bullets in the current magazine and deals twice as much damage, at the cost of slower projectile flight speed. Damage scales up per upgrade level.

Weapon name: Lynx 5.7mm PDW

A custom manufactured and heavily modified PDW chambered in 5.7mm. Modifications include customized optical sights, heavy amounts of electronic augments, and modified ballistics.

This weapon's also an entry for KLM's art contest, so it might look very familiar.

Weapon Stats
Firing mode: Automatic
Rate of fire: 1.5x faster than the CS-RC
Projectile color: Red
Magazine (if applicable): 50
Accuracy: Same as the Alien Rifle

Weapon Abilities
Projectiles ricochet off surfaces (similarly to railgun shots in MP) up to three times before expiring and have 2x more flight speed than normal bullets. They won't ricochet if a wall or a surface is perpendicular to the bullet.

Spoiler: Show More
Character, w/ swords

Name: Precept

Reconnaissance units that scout out the area for targets; if it does find a target, it escapes and summons two Echelons before disappearing. It functions similarly to the Oculyst in Warframe: it spawns in, scans the area for players, then leaves and deploys two fighters if it does spot you. One Precept spawns two Echelons, so try not to alert any, especially if they're in pairs or small groups.

The design was based off of Ash Prime, as referenced by the arm design and the silver/gray color scheme.

Stats
Default HP: 300 (cannot be damaged by any means, only avoided until it disappears)
Faction: Unknown
Mobility: Same as CS Lite
---
Sword damage: 2x normal sword damage
Sword abilities: Channels energy to deal 1.5x more damage at the cost of 150 HP per kill
---
Abilties: Immune to all modes of damage, but can be avoided (players have to avoid it until it goes away, which is after 5 minutes or until it spots a player in said 5 minutes)

For some reason, it just ... I don't know it just doesn't grasp my attention, but I am not saying that is poorly done or anything, I still like it. It just doesn't have the same effect on other people's artwork. Good job anyway.

I just realized that I unintentionally made references to how OP the Razorback is and the Lynx, but thanks.

KLMJETWORK wrote:Waaaaaaaaaaaaarframe.

All really nice artwork though. I like the Lynx most of all. Only thing I don't like is I can't continue my wildcat named gun series anymore >:(

I chose the name at random, simply because it sounded cool. I'm sure you can continue your series still.

That's only because while my art is in PB2's style, it's not simplistic like the art in PB2. That being said, what does grasp your attention and have the same effect that my art doesn't? Asking out of plain curiosity.

I really don't know how to respond to that because that's what the color scheme's supposed to be. It's not supposed to be dark, but thanks.

It would've been nice if you could've left some input on the weapons though.

Well, the LMG's magazine thing looks pretty small, and I cant tell where the PDW's magazine is, unless its like a P90 type mag. But still, those are pretty minor details, cuz the guns are awesome :P

The magazine's small simply because the weapon itself is large, though imagination can tell how long the magazine really is since it's inserted into the gun right now. It could barely be 1/4 in the gun or it could be 3/4 in the gun.

As for the PDW, the magazine is right here: http://prntscr.com/a74s9e

I somehow don't feel it fits the game style too great, with all that fancy detailing. That said - it's certainly not unwelcome. Lovely artistic style, and the work itself is really neat.

Thanks. Whether or not these do fit the game is debatable, but I suppose it's not exactly at PB2's simplistic style just yet, mainly because I don't like the lack of detail the characters and weapons in the game have.

Ah, so it is like a P90. Anyway, you should probably make the LMG magazine not so long, but more round, kinda like a drum mag I guess. But still, they look sweet. They look like guns that can be used by the Correction Nine, that one faction that we have no idea what is about them. They could be really high-tech and all that jazz. But if they were going to use there weapons, then I think they would need a certain color scheme, so maybe that PDW can be used by Falkok, since its red.

I made the LMG magazine a box magazine on purpose. A round drum-esque magazine simply didn't fit in my opinion.

As for factions, the only problem is that these guns aren't meant for Correction Nine or any other faction in the game currently. They're meant for entirely different factions. The PDW, while it may be red, would very most likely not be used by the Falkoks since it's too modern and not alien enough. They'd use something like C-01rs, which aren't exactly modern.

The Razorback LMG is dope. That character with/without swords is also pretty cool. And I like the red color on the Lynx 5.7mm PDW.

The rifle looks weird when the player holds it, it's also way to OP since I killed so many enemies!!!!

Well, maybe if you made the character actually hold it properly, it wouldn't look weird. It's not a rocket launcher so there's no need to hold it like one.

Also, it's only OP because you yourself made it OP. Damage levels were completely avoided in the main post for a reason.
