Hey guys, at this point, too many people are asking about variables and the URL-triggers, so I made a series going from basics to the most advanced.
The basics of variables.
How to do certain things by comparing variables with values using Trigger execution.
Combining what we've learned in a practice + tips&tricks.
We will look at what are player-slots, what the player initiator is and what the current player is, and how we can use variables to show text only to those who press a button.
URL-trigger basics, generating a basic request and getting response.
Handling POST information the URL trigger sends, map_id, user_uid and user_login in our own ASP.NET Web API.
In this video we will see how we can get more information about the player by sending another remote request, we will also look at how we can send in PB2 variables into the web API.
We will look at how to do queries into a database from PB2 so that we can insert into the database as well as get data from the database. (Note that I lost my audio for the last 2 minutes of the video, but it just demonstrated that it was the space in the username that was the fault. Normally you would just send in the player_login with the POST-body.
In this video, I show the basics of commands and also how to do advanced commands with parameters that talks with a Web API.
(Kind of a bonus video, I posted this as another thread) This is some advanced knowledge on how to put all of what we've learned together and then make some really cool things.
