[BUG REPORT] Radians don't work?

Postby xElijah » 21 November 2020, 17:10

The trigger actions responsible for changing gun's spread in radians don't seem to work as they should. In real life 1 radian = 57 degrees (approx), but in PB2 1 radian = 220 degrees (approx).

Examples:
1) 0.45 radian = 25 degrees in real life / 45 degrees in PB2.
2) 0.9 radian = 51 degrees in real life / 180 degrees in PB2.
3) 1 radian = 57 degrees in real life / 220 degrees in PB2.
4) 1.3 radians = 74 degrees in real life / 360 degrees in PB2.

Formulas:
Radians -> degrees convertation: Y (radians) x 180 : 3.14 = Y (degrees)
Degrees -> radians convertation: Y (degrees) x 3.14 : 180 = Y (radians)

I made a map that has 0.45 radian spread in ALE and it gives me 45 degrees spread in game while it should be 25 according to math. Who knows what's the deal? And can this be fixed if it's a bug? Map page.

Hey xElijah,

After testing out myself, it seems like your observations are accurate.

It appears to be a bug, not more on the radians themselves, but perhaps the way the game calculates gun accuracy with given value. I believe that the radians are fine because other trigger actions that utilises radian to for calculation like the sin(), cos() and atan() trigger action works fine.

I will include this in the ALE megathread. Thank you for your contribution!

Thanks. I hope Eric fixes it. By the way, your map seems to not work properly: Image 1, Image 2.
