Attachment Feature

Postby kabo » 7 December 2015, 23:03

Probably you know the point of the topic.

Attaching objects with others is something we often need as settings more than triggers, as it will be more effective and comfortable. Not to mention that attaching using triggers is restricted, we can't attach everything with anything. Such as attaching pushers and decors with doors and regions. The point is not in making it, but in making it easier.

It will be also useful if it had triggers, as the following:
- Attach Object 'A' with Object 'B'
- Detach Object 'A' from Object 'B'

So, what do you think of this idea? How useful can it be?

If you had to move quite a bit of stuff around at once in your project, yeah, I see it working. Especially with HUGE projects.

Solid idea!

Nah,but really that don't do anything is SP. I just prefer you choose 2 objects and here's a button called group/in group /ungroup object, and named them as another new #name.
That will better I guess.

Like water attaching to a region and let the region with the attached water move to another region?
Or do you mean something else?

Well, that's very useful idea, it will make it easier to deal with triggers, but I didn't mean combining two objects into one, I meant attaching them so whenever one of them goes, the other one follows it.

Like when you make an infinite trigger the moves a region to a player, the region will be attached to the player as long as the trigger is working.

Exactly, but water isn't necessary to be moved. We're talking about objects such as pushers, decors, backgrounds, and objects that are useful to be attached with movables, regions or anything else.

Like, if we want to make a moving ship, it will be very useful to attach the backgrounds of it with the movables, that will improve it's looking.
