In the campaign? I think each level isn't long enough or hard enough to warrant that, but I do think that there should be the option to create checkpoints. This would be useful in long and difficult maps.

Maybe it could be a trigger/region thing? Like "If player goes into region A, that triggers trigger 1 and causes player to respawn at region B."

Could be useful for custom maps, especially when 1 mission gets really long *cough* usurpers journey *cough*

Adding on to this, how about an option to set how many 'lives' or respawns you have?
