Guns in PB2 Artstyle

Postby mister mayhem » 6 September 2017, 06:01

Hello, I started learning Inkscape to draw, so I'm tracing guns as practice right now. Here's my first one, it's the Magpul PDR.

Spoiler: Show More
With magazine.

The magazine itself

Scaled down to ingame dimensions ( 60 % length of Assault Rifle CS-RC )

What gun do you guys think I should do next?

they look fairly nice; for a first trace, the art is fine. some edges (the trigger) look a bit sharp, but overall the shape and style is pretty accurate

however i think it would be better for the outlines to match the colors inside; the specific part i am talking about is the magazine. i believe it would suit the gun better if the magazine's outline color were a darker shade of yellow/tan.

i recommend to stray away from tracing realistic guns as practice, as well. there are many ppl that create "modern/realistic" gun shapes, but the whole point of pb2 is an unrealistic, futuristic aesthetic. expand your color choices (many people stick with greys and dull tans due to, once again, the idea of modern/realistic guns), defy modern designs, and innovate for yourself a unique essence that others will remember

Hah, that one looks very nice! I like how that PDW looks like, it looks amazing, yet how I hold it, is like how I hold an FN P90 SMG. Say, I got a suggestion for you, try making a Beretta 92FS in standard steel version and the inox version. Would be cool.

Kinda reminds me of the old SMG that Noir Lime used on PB : FTTP. Cool design by the way, keep improved.

Took a shot at handguns, it's suppose to be the H&K MK 23, but if you shrink them down enough they all look the same.

Anyways, I'm also working on a armor set, here's a sneak peak. Arms are mostly done, helmet and body needs more detailing and I haven't started the legs yet.

I liked how the H&K Mk. 23 looks. Pretty tactical, but if you remove the suppressor, it looks like a Socom pistol for some reason.

For the armor you made, it looks like the Helioskrill armor from Halo 5, especially the helmet.

Good job! Although, something about the colours seem... off. And the outlines, too. I think the outlines are too thick, but I can't really say what the issue is with the colours. Maybe try to use some colours directly taken from some of the sprites instead, or study the colours?

Real pistols are too generic when shrunk down. Try to guess what this is based off of.

Yup, I couldn't make it out on what gun is that. A Correction Nine weapon, perhaps? Since it has blue things onto the parts.

Me neither.

Also, I really loved how the Magpul PDR & the H&K Mk. 23 was drawn. They both look amazing, and I liked them both, but the Mk. 23 is the one I liked better. Since I'm pretty much of a stealth type of a player.

I might wanna guess,

Is this based off from a Kriss Kard pistol?

Can you spell J-A-C-K-H-A-M-M-E-R ?
Tried out some gradients on the curves. Hopefully it doesn't feel too tacky. I used the surviving prototype as reference, it looks slightly different than the later models. This one was pretty easy because of it's boxy design, I''ll probably tackle the more ascetically pleasing version some other time.

Hey, I recognize this gun, it's made by PANCOR.. I loved this gun, since this is merely an automatic shotgun (Like the AA-12 & USAS-12), I always used this gun since Thing Thing Arena 3.. ah, good old memories...

You could also add a reloading pics, like this:

You pump the handle foward, you remove the mag, inserting a new one, then pump the handle back.

i literally love you
full auto shotguns are the best thing in the world

--

But yeah, the concept of an automatic shotgun has never been revisited in PB2 (before the alien shotgun, which isn't really a shotgun but whatever), and that's why I literally love it. I can imagine shotguns like that literally tearing through everyone in close quarters. I'm also a massive fan of the tan colour scheme. This is definitely a weapon I'm looking forward to seeing in PB2.

Don’t forget the M1216 from Black Ops II. That shotgun shoots 4 shells in full auto.

the m1216 isn't actually "full auto" though outside the game, it's semi-auto

Welp, I was wrong with it. Sorry. Just gotten used to other shotguns like AA-12 and USAS-12 being full auto, so I thought the M1216 is full auto despite in the game it shot 4 shells faster.
