How to bring the M4A1 and Glock to an already existing map

Postby NitroLight » 19 March 2016, 23:49

This is for those of you that may not know, but it is actually possible to bring the M41A and glock over to a map that you never opened in old level editor. Basically follow these steps:

1.) Create a new map and open in old level editor.
2.) Add a weapon and give it the model id: gun_m4a1 or gun_glock (many people probably know this by now)
3.) Save it and close the Old Level editor
4.) Open the level with the Advanced level editor.
5.) Click on the weapon and DO NOT modify the weapon model (if it says ERROR over weapon model, then you have done it correctly)
6.) With the weapon selected, hit ctrl+c to copy it.
7.) At the top of the screen, click "open map"
8.) Select the map you want the gun in and open it.
9.) Hit ctrl+V to paste the weapon into the map.
You can paste it multiple times, enjoy your OP weapons comrades! 8)
I came here to kick ass and chew bubblegum, but it looks I couldn't do either of those-

A short, but useful and easy tutorial that'll help a lot of our mapmakers. Great to bring this, mate! :D

That, and I forgot how to add M4A1s and Glocks in ALE, so it's good to see this again as well.

I always had trouble trying to add in those guns, I see some others maps with them in and thought how they did that. Now this tutorial is here I bet now it would be much easier.
