DDoS?

So a few hours ago the website was working very slow. It ended up showing some weird error message. And then I got logged out from my account. What happened? Was it DDoS? Are our accounts safe?

Denial of service won't by itself compromise your account. DDoSing is basically sending a server more requests than it can handle, "overloading" the server and forcing it to shut down.

So far looks like database wasn't properly configured to work with new server configuration. We work on that. Does not look like any sort of attack.
