Spawned into a Stryde Sniper match that had CS Gauss Rifles instead of sniper rifles and had an absolute blast. Anybody know how this was done? Is there a special code I have to enter in the gameplay modifications field to get this variation?

Not always but for a while. It was mentioned in News on February 19, 2022.

This topic is answered, but let me clarify it.

As Eric replied, this feature was added to the game on February 19, 2022.

This shows the purpose of game modifications, which was left useless for a while, but now it has a purpose.
